What's happening in the Shed?
Wells-next-the-Sea Men's Shed
Now the Portakabin is on site, a hard core of volunteers can not stay away! The Portakabin is being refurbished with a complete refit. It's now going to incorporate a Reception area, a clean 'social' room with table and chairs for table top activities and meetings. It will also have a work area dedicated to wood working complete with a lathe and work tops, and the floor has been prepared for painting. The old WC area will be converted into a kitchen and store room so although it's cold outside the worker bees have been busy. Come along and see the progress, we are open to new members and fresh ideas.

We have an inclusive policy regarding our membership and a small number of ladies have already expressed interest in joining the The Wells-next-the-Sea 'Men's Shed'. We recognise the value of all members of the community in participating in 'shedding' so we have opened a 'Ladies Shed' page as a focus for ladies shedding activity. This is a dedicated place where ladies can share their thoughts, ideas, achievements and concerns etc.
So let us know what you think about the idea Ladies, you'd be most welcome to join in the fun of shedding. Full contact details and more information are available on The Ladies Shed page. ...that's all for now folks from the Shedmaster Big day today as the Shed arrives on a low loader. With the aid of some of the 'Shedders' the Portakabin is pitched on site with a little pushing and shoving. It fits nicely on the prepared site at the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway. It's 40 x 10 feet and should enable us to become operational, albeit, in a limited way until we get some electricity hooked up. Now some TLC to freshen it up and fit it out. ... so there we have it our new home, next up a lick of paint and some cosmetic repairs and we should be able to move in. Well done team an historic day for the Wells-next-the-Sea Men's Shed. Next meeting is this Wednesday and we can discuss the next steps .... that's all for now folks from the Shedmaster
A Happy New Year everyone and although there was a short break for the Christmas festivities some folks have been busy preparing our new site. Here's some snaps of work in progress: The 'heavy artillery' arrives to clear and level the site at the WWLR Station... The back up 'heavy artillery' (courtesy of too many mince pies!) dig holes for the Portakabin supports.... With the aid of some virtual reality we have a Portakabin! Fingers crossed the real one will arrive shortly.... That's all folks for now, but remember our next meeting is on Tuesday 9th Jan at the Wells & Community Hospital, the Shedmaster
