What's happening in the Shed?
Wells-next-the-Sea Men's Shed
As I've mentioned previously the `Shedders' have been busy with the renovation of the interior of The Shed. There is still more to do but over 2/3rds is now usable for members to create. Also awareness is slowly increasing and we are getting requests for our range of rustic garden furnishings, including an order from a local lady who wants 9 planters. So we have set up an 'industrial' production line - breaking up pallets, cutting the wood to size, constructing the planter and painting them - some great team working. This weeks Wednesday open day was well attended and productive. The good weather brought out some visitors including our Councillor, Dr Marie Strong and her husband Michael who kindly wished us well and donated some paint which will be put to good use. We are keen to recruit new members so Wednesday is a good day to come down and have a 'taster' session to see if it's for you. The only limitation is you need to be over 18. On other news 3 of our members attended a call for assistance from Carol Jennings at The Yorke Trust. The roof on the Chapel at South Creake is in need of repair and leaking rain onto the props. No we are not repairing the roof but helping move the props to a dry location so that the professions can get access. Here are some snaps of the crew who enjoyed some very nice cake and refreshments, thanks Carol and we'll be back to help put the stuff back when the roof has been fixed: Above Left - the props need saving from the leaky roof. Above right - all nicely moved to a dry location. Left - The Crew with Carol - L to R, Mark, Richard and Pete - well done team. Richard has also constructed some planters for the shed inspired by our hosts the Wells & Walsingham Railway. Sadly they have the wrong wheel gauge to run on the track and will look better when the artificial flowers have been replaced! Well done Richard - next the engine?

Two planters, constructed from recycled pallets, have been completed and delivered to a delighted lady in Wells. So pleased is she that her envious neighbours might be placing orders! The Shedders now need a production line!
Also some of the Shedders have recently helped refresh the bark on the roundabout on Polka Road in support of the 'Wells in Bloom' project, a perfect example of the type of project the Men's Shed is aiming to help.
